The Firm

Founded in late 1998 by William Schiller and Paul Knapp, the firm largely focuses on serving creditors and lending institutions, in the areas of foreclosure, bankruptcy, creditor’s rights, and loss mitigation. Both Mr. Knapp and Mr. Schiller have spent many years as counsel to numerous lending institutions throughout New York State. 

At Schiller & Knapp, LLP, we believe that creativity and attention to detail differentiate the leading practitioner from the average lawyer. Our primary mission is to assure that our client’s loan portfolio is aggressively protected. It is our goal to assist our clients in managing their default portfolio in a timely manner, while minimizing costs.

Our firm’s goal is to establish long-term working relationships founded on an understanding of our client’s business objectives and sustained by providing high-caliber professional services in a timely and efficient manner. 

The firm is comprised of eight attorneys, as well as an impressive team of experienced support staff, with an in-depth knowledge of Bankruptcy Law, Creditors’ Rights, Foreclosure Law and general Real Property Law.  We are proficient in the use of PACER, eTrack, LPS Desktop, LenStar and other computer-based platforms.
